Long Standing Career with Philip Morris
Mortensen started his career in the tobacco industry in 1989 when he joined Philip Morris USA.[1] In 1999, he became Senior Vice President Sales & Distribution at Miller Brewing Company (MBC), an affiliate of Philip Morris.[2] When Philip Morris sold MBC in 2002 to South African Breweries (which created SABMiller)[3], Mortensen joined PMI where he held several leadership positions until his departure in 2017, including:
- Senior Vice President Human Resources (2014-2017)
- President Latin America & Canada (2010- 2014)
- Managing Director Mexico, Ecuador & Peru (2008-2010)
- President Philip Morris Japan KK (2005-2008)
- Vice President Marketing & Sales Philip Morris Japan KK (2002-2005)
