Arthur Butler

Arthur Butler was a tobacco industry lobbyist. He became a 'public affairs consultant' in 1971, following a career as a lobby journalist for national newspapers.[1]

He is reported to have worked for Imperial Tobacco.[2]
From December 1998 he attended meetings of the Tobacco Manufacturers' Association, though minutes of the meetings do not specify which company or organisation he was working for.[3] However, he was paid by the TMA from 2000.[4] The TMA budgeted £13,000 plus expenses for Butler's services in the financial year 2001/2.[5]
