Relationship with Alcohol and Food Industries
Ruys has worked in the food and alcohol industries:[3]
Prior to becoming a board member at BAT, between 2002 and 2005, Ruys was Chief Executive Officer at beer brewer Heineken in the Netherlands.[4] Ruys had joined Heineken in 1993, being responsible for the company’s marketing.[3]
Ruys started his career with Unilever, where he worked from 1974-1993, holding several leadership positions in Colombia, Italy and the Netherlands.[3]
